( CHARACTER INFORMATION )

Name/Work Name: Decadus (Work name: Chien)
Canon: Drakengard 3
Canon Point: Route A, after Chapter 4, but before Chapter 5’s ending.
AU/CRAU: Nooope
Age: Appears to be 38 (In reality, it's likely that he has spent about one to less than two years as a human, so technically he's only a year and more than a half at most-- bird years notwithstanding)
History: A link to his entry in the Drakengard wikia

Details that aren't included in his page concern his nature as a Disciple and what he had been doing pre-game; while it’s not stated when explicitly, he’s a being created from a dove to satisfy his Intoner’s, which is, Four, sexual needs and boost her song magic. However, in his case, because of how they’re, uh, mismatched (or perhaps, appropriate for one another), Decadus only serves Four in battle against the Lords that used to rule their lands and they never really had that type of relationship, mainly because Decadus grossed Four out with his perversion when he mistook her attempt to have a “pure” relationship as a some sort of sexual game.

Personality: "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade" is an outlook many take when it comes to dealing with the adversities encountered throughout life. And in a way, Decadus also adheres to this principle; in his case though, rather than make lemonade, he's more likely to "accidentally" squirt lemons into his own eyes and then gets a boner at how they sting.

To put it bluntly, Decadus is an extreme masochist whose view on life is weirdly optimistic; he takes any pain, whether it be physical or mental, he experiences and derives sexual pleasure from them. Of course, this might not be bad in itself; his kinks are his kinks, after all, if only Decadus weren't so damn gross about it.

While Decadus has some semblance of social boundaries, pretending (in vain) to hide his tendencies in order to appear “normal”, his fetish is very much obvious to all who know him, mainly because he won’t stop getting aroused by practically every sort of pain and discomfort he encounters. In fact, he unsubtly seeks them out, purposely fighting with his fists in order to experience the maximum pain on his body. Indeed, Decadus gets off at almost everything, as long as they cause him pain somehow. For example, when the party is forced to move through the desert in order to reach their destination, Decadus is the only one who appears composed and most unaffected by the heat, not because of his endurance or anything of that sort, but rather, because the heat was so hot that he’s being turned on by how much he’s suffering from it. Even the idea of death itself is a turn on for him. The same can be applied to mental “pain” as well, where he takes the insults of his Intoners (Zero and Four) and even another Disciple, Dito, and once again, gets a boner from it. Even the supposed hatred of the enemies, ones that they’re fighting, still set him off, apparently being viewed with such hatred (and in his Four’s case, disgust) is still enough to make him, well, hard.

Naturally, as perverted as he is, Decadus doesn’t even need to actually experience these pains to get off; he can just rely on his imagination. For example, when talking about the weapons of one of the Intoners, Three, he immediately gets a boner, borderlining on orgasming when he hears about her scissors and imagines about how she can use it to torture him-- and cut his junk off. Yeah. His fantasies extend to… well, again, almost everything, whether it be, as said before, the heat of the desert, the vines that oh so remind him of bondage, and the various threats from his Intoner. Even the shame at being exposed about his fetish still counts as a pain that allows him to get a boner off of it.

In fact, doing nothing at all-- or even trying to actively stop his fantasies-- can result in him interpreting these attempts as ones that are done to stop him from getting pleasured from the pain-- which in his circular logic-- ends up getting him off again because the pain of not being able to get off at the pain he feels is still painful. A pain that he can fap to. As he has demonstrated in his relationship with his first Intoner, just being ignored, being looked down with disgust, still gets him off. In fact, even when Four expresses her utter disgust with him for his perverted ways, he still takes it as her looking at him with disgust because she’s indulging him in his gross fantasies. Unlike other masochists (and less gross ones) out there, Decadus involves the other party in his fantasies, imagining how they look at him with such disgust when they really are uncomfortable with his blatant perversion, ignoring or oblivious to their discomfort. To reiterate once again, Decadus’ way of life is truly strangely optimistic, because everything-- even the act of losing his humanity on purpose-- can still be interpreted by him as a masochistic act, thus turning him on. Again.

In a sense, because he has some semblance of social boundaries, he tries to disguise and justifies his attempts to, well, get off as being sacrifices done for someone else’s sake. He fights for his “Lady Zero” and “Lady Four”; the pain he gets comes from protecting them, of course! Not because he totally wants to be beaten up or anything! Really! This also connects how he views his duty as a Disciple as well. While all the Disciples are implied to be compelled to serve an Intoner, Decadus is the one who fully embraces his role as a Disciple, that is, to serve an Intoner. In conjunction to how he finds pain by disguising as sacrifices for someone else’s sake, he finds his worth through his servitude, even extending this attitude to other Disciples, saying that they should give it their all for their current Intoner, Zero. Decadus seems content with being subservient to his Intoner, devoting himself to the (current) Intoner he serves-- partly, of course, for the exquisite pain he will receive. Of course, that doesn’t mean he’d stay loyal to said Intoner forever, as evident with how though he asked for Zero to kill him after Four’s death, he still joined up with her, in contrast to Four’s claim that he would be willing to take his own life after her death. Though he may voice some objections toward his Intoners’ actions, he’d still follow them, such as when Four ends up slaughtering the retreating elves, expressing his incredulity at her cruelty… while getting turned on by it at the same time, of course.

Despite this, however, Decadus is actually a somewhat decent human being underneath. His fetish aside, he cares for his Intoner and fellow travelers, asking about their well-being and voicing his concerns for them, an example of which can be how he often inquires after Mikhail when he’s lost or hurt, genuinely worried about his well being. Similarly, his concerns also extend to Zero when she’s suffering, shown in the game when he acts the one who keeps asking for her well being, such as when Mikhail was revealed to hunger after Intoners and when she had to walk through the desert, suffering from the heat. He’s also generally courteous to his fellow peers, even when they mock or irritate him during the battle. Surprisingly, coming from man whose kink practically defines his personality, he has limits to his fetish, where in the weapon story that details his, uh, kinks, he is shown to rejecting an unknown act of masochism, saying it’s too much even for him, which is rather surprising coming from the man who gets off at his junk being cut off. The same can be applied to when he viewed the massacres and deaths resulting from the Flower’s influence as well, where in contrast to Dito who relishes in such gore, Decadus groans in disgust-- not pleasure-- for the first time. Indeed, disregarding his fetish and the gross ways he goes about it, Decadus is generally polite to others; his tone is always respectful. And though his kink practically defines him, Decadus also has other interests; he genuinely appreciates the intellectual values of the ruins (which Zero disregards and “ruins” in the process of her rampage) even if he gets a boner when Zero snaps back at him. Though his favorite in his profile is listed as extreme spicy food, implying that the spicy taste counts as “pain” for him to enjoy, he also has a sweet tooth, preferring a french toast when wondering about what meals Zero should make with the other Disciples. All in all, Decadus would be an actual decent human being… if not for the fact that due to his view, he’d deliberately go along with some of his masters’ unsavory actions and gets a boner out of it when his protests are ignored. That, and the fact that he’s a trash who gets turned on when he’s called or viewed as such. That trash.

Debt: To pay his penance for his Intoner’s “sins”-- though to be honest, the idea of him losing control and is "forced" to work to pay for someone else's debt gets him off and that's his true motive here.

Suitability: As said before, the idea of him losing control and be forced into servitude while being made to endure all these "excruciating" and "exhilarating" trials gives him a big, fat (and disgusting) boner. So yeah, he'd be able to cope.

Previous Game Info: Not applicable.

Inventory: The clothing he wears, a short sword (that he never actually uses in combat for some reasons), and a pair of combat bracers he actually does use in combat, and his glasses.

Abilities, Strengths, and Weaknesses: He's one of the Disciples, which, in this canon, refer to the men who are transformed (or created somehow from doves) to be literally sex slaves for the Intoners to bang and use in combat by summoning Angels for them. Yeah

To quote the Drakengard wikia’s entry on the Disciples here

“Each Intoner is granted a disciple to assist her in her duties, as well as to protect her from harm. They function through the Intoner as a summoner of sorts, utilizing an Intoner's natural gift for Song to summon angels without the restrictions that accompany a pact or a seal. Disciples who decide to summon such beasts without the power of an Intoner may suffer a negative-feedback of sorts, essentially losing their life as a disciple and turning into a white dove. Other instances of turning into a white dove include the fulfillment of a disciple's purpose in serving their Intoner or a disciple being unable to retain their human form due to having lost their Intoner.”

As Four’s Disciple, Decadus has the ability to summon her angel, Armaros. It manifests as a giant fortress, armed with defensive capabilities that allow it to protect itself through cannons and other sorts of magical attacks and barriers. It also has the ability to obstruct another aerial creature’s movement through its spell, an ability that Decadus demonstrated in his fight with Zero and Mikhail and another time when he obstructs the movement of Ezrael, Three’s Elder Dragon that can teleport throughout the battlefield later on. As stated in the passage above, while Decadus can summon the Angel on his own, he will have to “pay a price”, as Zero put it, where he would return to his original form: a dove. The only way he can summon Armaros without such consequences would be with the assistance of his original Intoner, Four, who is not within the game at the moment, which means that this ability will be restricted or used in only certain circumstances. Likewise, as Four’s Disciple, Four also has the ability to directly order him to summon the Angel without his consent due to her own ability as his Intoner. However, as she isn’t within the game at the moment, this issue will likely only be addressed if she were to be apped in.

While not listed as one of the Disciples’ powers, Decadus is rather adept in battle, though his combat ability is lower than that of an Intoner. Still, he managed to land a fatal blow to a crazed Two, an Intoner noted for her super strength, with the assistance of another Disciple and his Intoner at the time, implying that at least, his combat prowess is likely better than an average soldier, perhaps even more, presumably stemming from his status as a Disciple.

Decadus’ masochism is surprisingly a strength for him; he can cope with almost any situation he’s in by viewing it as a pain for him to enjoy. This double edge sword makes him rather unappealing in public, especially when he gets lost in his fantasies, but at least, it does allow him to cope with what life throws at him, whether it be pain or well, more pain.

As mentioned in the personality section, Decadus’ greatest weakness would be his subservience; while he might disagree with his Intoner’s-- or the one he’s serving at the moment-- actions, he doesn’t do much to go against it. Indeed, Decadus isn’t the type who takes the initiative; he prefers to follow and can only feebly protest when it comes to his superior’s actions.

Likewise, another weakness would be how masochism practically dominates his entire way of thinking. This means that he will view almost everything in terms of his kinks, misunderstanding others’ actions. While, as stated before, it helps him cope by getting a boner when he’s about to be killed and all, it also makes him rather awkward in social situation, where he tends to mutter about the joy of being stepped on, whipped, stabbed, etc, without realizing that others can hear him. And for all his talk of being self sacrificing, the way his masochism operates means that he would end up misunderstanding interactions with him as being based on some sort of sexual game, as was the case with him and Four.

( SAMPLE )

Characterization Sample: [ It was big. Too big! No matter how much his tongue teased, licked, and nibbled it, the brutal way this thick, hard flesh was being thrusted in his mouth made him feel as if it could split him in two. Though his jaws were forced apart, accommodating the large member’s entry, his teeth grazing its skins, it was still too much for him to take in, gagging him and forcing to breathe in the meat’s strong, unpleasant aroma; the smell of the creature’s disgusting sweat lingered. Regardless of how many times it came in inside of him, he couldn’t bring himself to swallow it. Decadus could only stare at this stiff piece of meat in his hands, coated with his saliva, as he once again put it in him...

Yes, once again, it was he who had to eat this leftover piece of Ogre’s leg by himself as others took the rest of the meat...

Lady Zero had accomplished what she intended to do in the Land of Desert, namely killing her sister, Lady Two, and as she had done before, took her sister’s Disciple with her. Now, the only thing left for his Intoner to do was to slay the other last remaining one, and as one of Lady Zero’s Disciple and it was Decadus’ duty to devote everything he has to assist her in this goal.

Alas, devoting all that he has wasn’t enough to get them out of the desert fast enough-- even with the help of Mikhail, Lady Zero’s dragon, they still needed to take a rest tonight as the group traversed across the desert to the Cathedral City. Unfortunately, the Land of Desert wasn’t exactly known for its abundance in natural resources and as their rations were dwindling, they were forced to hunt down local creatures for food. Normally, they’d make do with more relatively conventional animals like wolves, but for some reasons or the other, the only beings they could find today were monsters, Ogres to be more precise.

Mikhail and Lady Zero were not so picky and the two of them devoured the monsters without any hint of reservation; Mikhail bit through the monsters’ hard skins, raw and all, while Lady Zero simply threw the meat in the fire and ate whatever bits she could get her hands on, not caring about the taste at all. His fellow Disciples were more specific with their meals; Dito prefered to take the intestines and organs of the monsters (for reasons that he wasn’t going to ask). Octa’s interest, however, lay in the, uh, “nether region” of the monster, claiming that it was a delicacy that would boost his sexual performance (something Decadus didn’t even ask about). The newest Disciple, Cent, then somehow cited a trivia (once again, something he didn’t ask for) as he took the Ogre’s toes and claimed that they were the keys to him having, in his words, “sublime skins”. Sadly for Decadus, as his peers ravaged the monster’s body, the only thing left for him was the large piece of the Ogre’s leg, one that Lady Zero had randomly thrown in the fire, now burnt and stringy.

He tried to eat it as quickly as possible, ignoring its taste and focusing on filling his stomach. The moment his teeth sank down on the meat, finding it hard, if not impossible to chew on it, forcing him to taste the disgusting flavor of the meat in its entirety. He then had to resort to taking in the large meat, slowly biting through it bit by bit as its heat spread throughout his mouth, requiring him to take it out occasionally before it could burnt him. Truly, this thing in his hand couldn’t be called a food anymore and eating it was pure torture, full with nausea, with repugnance, with… with pleasure.

Though its taste was absolutely disgusting, Decadus was beginning to find joy in eating it. It was torturous, true, but torture itself was what gives him joy. The pleasure of overcoming-- and enduring-- such difficult trials would be intoxicating, as after all, it was his duty as Lady Zero’s Disciple to consume all the food left, wasn’t it? It was up to him to get rid of all these disgusting meals so that others wouldn’t be forced to have them in his place, even if it meant that he had to choke himself with such putrid flesh. Just the thought of him being forced to take in that hard meat was making his, uh, own “meat” harden as well…

And so, no matter what it took, he’d keep jamming it in inside of him until he could take it all in. Such an altruistic act is its own reward, after all! ]
